Queries about Quinn's long awaited book come up here occasionally. I just ran across this announcement on the Forthcoming Books page at benchmark books.com

The Mormon Hierarchy: Wealth and Corporate Power by D. Michael Quinn is scheduled to be published by Signature Books in Feb 2016, priced at $49.95. Hardback 800 pp.

I'll wait till there is some sold second hand for way less. But look forward to it.

As will I. It was his article on the succession in the Presidency that really got me going into questioning on my mission. Once it started there was no turning back. I got back to BYU and found his Masters thesis and Doctoral dissertation in the special collections section of the HBL library. Lots of hours spent poring over those documents.

800. The man never does anything small. Another wealth of information no doubt.

He's really good about overwhelming Mormons in denial about what happened. Hoping for a few explosive revelations as well.

Agreed... And true to Quinn's style, 2/3 will probably be references.

It's going to be a great read, I'm sure. Been waiting for it these last years.

Looking forward to reading his book. I want to find out more about Eldon Tanner--the cold, pitiless mastermind behind corporate Mormonism.

A full year later than what he told me, but knowing his propensity of footnoting everything, the printing must be massive.

It will be the perfect book to 'gift' to those special someone's who have blessed each and every one of us with the tender mercy of helping the brethren suck a measure of joy out of the lives of so many that we love and love us ....

Hope there is some 'follow the money' insight in it.

I admire the heck out of Quinn and would love the opportunity to chat with him, but you have to admit that he is not writing for the common folk.

I'll read it here in Benson's subsequent posts. :)

Does he still believe the BoM was divinely inspired/admires JS, still considers himself partially Mormon? He stated he didn't believe they could take away his membership...

Why admire anything about a blarantly racist, sexist, homophobic (he stated he is gay) corporation that shakes down everyone for tithing and every last dime they can squeeze out of those who cannot afford the spiritual extortion? It is clearly a cult.

I admire Quinn greatly, but personally do not believe he believes in the historicity of the BoM or some other issues he has made statements about. He keeps his audience much larger if he appears to be one of the faithful. I could be entirely wrong. I don't condemn him for it.
