You may be onto something - a special requirement that many have but few have perfected to such an excellent degree. :-)

My money is on Ronald Rasband or Whitney Clayton, depending on who's REALLY calling the shots at this moment. If Tom Monson is still in charge, it'll be Rasband. He always calls the senior president of the seventy. He spent his entire life in the system, and trusts it completely -- this is where QL Cook, NA Andersen, and DT Christopherson all came from.
If, on the other hand Russ Nelson is running the show these days (with the impending expiration of TSM and BKP) it will be his lapdog from the SCMC, Whitney Clayton. Knowing TBMs, they'd call that a hat tip to KK and the OW crowd.
I see that Christensen "was a self-employed businessman in the retail automotive, insurance, and real estate development industries." Sounds like a used-car salesman to me.
That's right. Boyd's son who is in the 1st Quorum of the 70. This will smack of nepotism but the elder Packer may be so set in his old ways that he may say "fuck it–I don't care what people say. I'm making him an apostle."
he is probably already chosen and has been on a list for a long while. He is white and rich, that's a given. he is probably related to someone who is high up in the mormon food chain. Yes it is speculation but sort of low hanging fruit of speculation. I think I have a high chance of being correct.
There was a rumor/story/post on here awhile ago that stated that when one is called to the Q12, the person signs over all of his assets to the church and is paid a nice stipend for the rest of whatever.
IF that is true, I can't see Romney doing that. Unless he signs everything over to his kids first.
I was told back in the 60's, when Paul Dunn joined the assistants to the Q12, that GAs had a United Order and that there was a set buy-in price. In that era all the Church Education Department guys being called earned that money by publishing thier thesis or other works and they were sold through Deseret Books. They often got to marry into the royal lines, eg Bruce Mckonkie.

This reminds me...I was reading the churches essay on Racism and how integrated they are. As proof to contest this statement all you have to do is pull our the General Authority chart in the middle of the conference edition of the Ensign.
