Interesting approach by Oaks and Turley. Instead of trying to answer all the problems in the church point for point (which is obviously not going to work), they went on a two-pronged offensive:

1. Talk about how miraculous the "coming forth" of the Book of Mormon was.

2. Spook the members in attendance with a discussion of "false prophets" coming and deceiving many and "apostasy".

Point 1 was just more of the same stuff. Preaching to the converted.

But I'm not sure what the purpose of point 2 was. Is there an apostate church starting in Boise? Or is he accusing Dehlin, Kelly, Waterman, Snuffer, etc., of priest craft to discredit them? Is he just trying to throw out scary terms to bully members into line?

I can't tell what's going on. It seems totally tangential to any answers people might be looking for, and I don't know a single person who this would be relevant to.
