Here's a great piece about an interview done with Jimmy Carter about SCOTUS's ruling. As always, he's very interesting and smart.

What good work he is doing. Way to go, Jimmie!

That's great. Sincerely.

However, I'll be even more pleased when "leaders" state things like, "It doesn't matter what Jesus would or wouldn't have approved of, this is the right decision for us, now," rather than, "I believe Jesus would have approved."

:)

Yeah. And, how about just one time they let Jesus speak for himself? Nothing seems to be important enough for him to actually stick his face in a say few words.

I had a conversation with a TBM on why it's silly to invoke Jesus on the issue of gay marriage (or any number of issues for that matter). We know what Paul thought on the matter. We'll never know what Jesus thought. Personally, I doubt that a radical Palestinian Jew living under Mosaic law and preaching of the coming end times would have cared too much about people convicted of sodomy being stoned.

I was then reminded by the TBM that this is why we need prophets on the earth today, so that we can know what Jesus thinks on any matter because the two have frequent one-on-one chats.

It's nice when former leaders do anything (good for their country/ humanity).
