There might suddenly be a market here.

I bet I could knock out 20 of these a day. Put names on them- The Young stone, The Benson stone, the criket stone, the susan stone. Maybe the church would buy them up.

you maybe on to something. But there would have to be a good believable historical narrative to go along with it.

Sadly, TBM's would snap these up. I wonder what the brethren would say if people started using them and claimed revelation. A funny answer would be stop using the stones, they never worked anyway.

wear them as belt buckles so that they are always available. Who knows what they can read up on during sacrament meeting.

What would a seer scone taste like?

Hold on, I think I see something appearing on my scone. It says, don't put it in a hat or you'll have a mess.

It would taste like everything else mormonish.... weird but

bland, and it would be white, white and delightsome.

We're already there! My Gr-Gr-Gr-Gr-Grandpa was Joseph Smith's nearest neighbor, and my cousin is going to visit the old homestead, and gather as many rock as possible, from the same sacred rock deposit as the seer stone. After that, we don't know. I can make little leather bags for them, Cousin can polish them up, and since he holds the priesthood, he can bless and consecrate them.

Sell them at roadside stands, as tourists pass my on their way to Mormon Mecca. We've got a two-headed rattle snake, and a jackalope, too.

I'm loving this!

it's an implement used in the preparation of fibre for spinning called a 'diz'

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=diz+spinning+tool&es_sm=122&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CGoQsARqFQoTCM249dTjlscCFeqZ2wodH0QIvQ#tbm=isch&q=diz+spinning

sometimes these diz have niches in the edges used as yarn cutters, which would look like the other 'seer stone' Joe allegedly used. A big round diz with lots of different gauge holes and gauge cutting niches would be a prized object of an 'ancient' (ie before the white settlers) spinner.

Alvin R. Dyer -- the one with the whitmer stone.

Good friends with my parents -- and I almost wound up living in his home in Sugar House (??maybe??) -- my parents were about to buy the house -- then he sold it out from under them even while knowing they wanted it. -- okay maybe it was one-way "friendship" (mormon style)

Little did I know what that guy carried around in his pocket.

Thank you AnonUK for your enlightenment. I was just ready to send Druid all my money as I am most desperate to get further light and knowledge (like Joseph Smith). Guess I will go buy some dinner with what I was about to send to Druid. (Sorry ole buddy - come visit and I will buy you lunch)

I never heard of them until I began studying the Mormon seer stone issues. There are some of them in the Museum of Appalachia in Norris TN, near my home.
