I did once. I had Linkin Park songs going thru my head the whole session.

Anyone else?

Yep. I kept hearing "Through the Never" from Metallica as I went through the veil.

You and I often have the same thoughts about the same things.
That Peggy Lee song seems to be a theme that keeps popping up.
So much reality in that song, along with the way she sang it.

It's the perfect temple theme song.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCRZZC-DH7M

I think that would be a great song for someone to sing at a funeral. Is that twisted?

I always "get" your posts madalice. Great minds think alike.

Twisted or not, they can sing that song at my funeral. It came out the same year as I went to the temple for my endowments.

I sat in that Celestial room thinking exactly that, "Is that all there is to the temple?" And then my parents, with glowing smiles and knowing eyes, prodded me to say how wonderfully spiritual it had all been, followed by a matronly temple worker telling me to move it along--another contingent was about to bust through the veil, or as I now call it---the finish line.

One of my college room-mates would sneak candy into the session. During the session (while older members were nodding off and snoring) he would pull a box of candy from his pocket, open it, take a handful, and pass it along to the rest of us.

We got some "stink-eye" looks from matrons but nobody ever said anything....and it kept us awake.

My TBM grandma used to buy them all the time. Yummy! It was my downfall into greater sin. ;)

I was always so worried about forgetting that no ear worm could get me there. Man, I was uptight!

my first time in the temple on my wedding day and with each new awful experience, all I could think of was, "I gave up girl scouts for this?"

Nobody is hearing "Highway to Hell?" That is most fitting.

Change the lyrics to Temple Mormon.

Welcome to the Temple Mormon, what a lovely place, HA!
You can check out any time you like, but you can NEVER LEAVE. We are the ones that DID manage to leave!

Ha-ha!

Those songs are fitting. My mind went a little crazy, the first time I went to the temple, on my wedding day, and an old folk song from our junior high singing group came into my head. I don't know the name of it, but some of the words are:

Take off your old coat, and roll up your sleeves
Life is a hard road to travel, I believe.

I look to the East, I look to the West
A youth asking Fate to be rewardin'
But Fortune is a blind god, flying through the clouds,
And forgetting me, this side of Jordan.

...Like some ragged owlet, with its wings expanded
Nailed to some garden gate or boarding,
Thus will I by some men, all my life be branded
Never hurted none, this side of Jordan.

This song was full of sad thoughts of death and hopelessness, and the memory of my childhood sweetheart, who sang in the group, and whom I loved forever, but who was an Atheist.... The sight of my new husband-to-be, his face bloated and sweating under the tight baker's cap, and the look in his squinty eyes had made me suddenly ill. I was going to go through the wedding, and then figure a way out of the marriage and out of the cult.... These feelings were right. He had a history of violent abuse, that I didn't know about. No one had told me about the blood oaths, either.

...Like some ragged owlet....

Peter paul and mary sang that song. It's called Take off your old coat.

I didn't have ear worm in the temple the first time I went but I certainly had a theme running through my head over and over that went like this:

This is NOT like it was supposed to be
Lordy, get me out of here
Get me out of here.

This is weird, so weird and really rather SILLY
Lordy, get me far from here.
Far, far away from here.

I can't stand the way my husband-to-be looks.
He doesn't look handsome, he looks STUPID, like a clown
Lordy, get me out of here
Far, far away from here.

I wanted to walk down a beautiful church isle
I wanted to look breath-taking and I too, look like a clown,
Lordy, I want out, out
Far, far away from here.

That should be framed or embroidered on a pillow. What you have captured with those words is a marvelous work and a wonder.

Rod Stewart (and I can't stand Rod Stewart for what ever that is worth ) screaming a message from my subconscious to me;

Young hearts be free tonight. Time is on your side,
Don't let them put you down, don't let 'em push you around,
don't let 'em ever change your point of view.

Pure prophecy considering the heart breaking things that happened soon after wards.
