I clicked on this thread expecting to read news/spoilers about next summers X-Men:Apocalypse movie. That's the only Apocalypse I care about, the super mutant who fights Cable and the X-Men. And he's just as real as the Mormon Apocalypse that was supposed to happen yesterday.

This is the time when people should start taking advantage of the lack of apocalypse to re-promote their cause/business.

Televangelists could say that it was averted due to all the "seed money" pouring in - but you'd better keep it coming.

Catholics could say that it was due to the good will generated by the Pope's visit.

Muslims could say that it was due to the overwhelming faith of people coming the the Hajj. Okay, several hundred people had their own little apocalypse at the Hajj.

Purchases of books written by doomsday prophets, purchases of survival goods of all sorts, catching up on payment of tithes, basically any apocalypse-related outpouring of your funds - may have increased the world's faith level to the point of delaying the apocalypse.

I fear that we here at RfM didn't quite carry our weight in this regard, but I certainly appreciate the efforts and funds of those who did.

What's the point of the world ending if it won't end?

So what are all the doomsday preppers saying about this?

What are the predictors saying now??

Has anybody responded in any way??

(besides the ones poking fun?)

What's the point of having a poker if you don't poke?

Crap! I have to mow the lawn and pick the tomatoes tomorrow. Not to mention its the first of the month and the bills are due. Crap, crap, crap.

That does it! I'm wearing a white temple dress, veil over my face, and that pleated tunic thing when I answer the door to trick or treaters. It's the perfect ghost outfit. I'm putting the green leaf apron on my stack of pumpkins I have on the front porch. I have 10 0f these flat Cinderella pumpkins that I grew.

Still here. Maybe I'll go to the movies this weekend. Or the Zoo.

The apocalypse will not come overnight, but over the next few years. If we don't tame global warming, the planet will become less hospitable for human life and other animals and plants.

These nutjobs who cry about "bloodmoons" call climatologists nutjobs. Humanity may not survive this century if we don't curb our pollution and overconsumption.

Let's curb the nutjobs, too, shall we? ;-)

"curb our pollution and overconsumption."

When the enviromental movements start addressing cow farts and make it #1 priority for the world to be vegan.... Maybe I might glance over to see what the fuss is all about.
