Before Alabama hired Nick Saban in 2007, I didn't know if I'd live to ever see them win another national championship. And now they've won four in his nine years there.

As a result, I declare that Bama's coach will be known from this day forward as Nick "Li'l Bear" Saban. If I had any sense, I'd copyright that and start printing T-shirts.

It was nice to see junior TE O. J. Howard coming out and making some big plays. He's from Prattville, which is where my wife and I lived for five years after we were married. O. J. is GUILTY---of murdering Clemson. :-)

Dude, that was 44 years and like eight Bama national championships ago. Can't you come up with something new? :-)

Spending 5 years in small town Alabama made me the opposite of a Bama fan. My favorite team is WHOEVER is playing Alabama. Even when it was BYU.

So I can put you down as a hater, then? :-)

No problem. If I wasn't a Bama fan, I'd probably hate them too.

Hell, I work on UA campus and I can't stand the tide. It epitomizes everything that is wrong with the state.

Fuck Tide Fuck.

Guess that makes me a hater -- and proud of it.

I seem to be caught in the midst of an hornets' nest, here.

My only sin is attempting to be sociable. I'd best get my tired act up the road.

later, ya'll.

"They should have played without keeping score, had a great fireworks show after time ran out and then given all those nice young men a glittery 'participation' trophy. That way there would have been no tears and the NFL scouts would still have reams of notes."

Georgia State coach Bill Curry recalls his wife Carolyn attending church in Tuscaloosa when he was the head coach at Alabama.

She commented to the minister, "Football is like a religion down here."

He replied, possibly in jest, though no one was certain: "No, it's much more important than that."

My coworkers (well, most of them) seemed pretty happy today.

I'm happy for my community. Crimson Tide crap is flying off the shelves.

I have to say Alabama has some serious fans.
