One of my last bishops was a gate agent for an airline. It was a revelation to see the gate agent in that office. Many of the leaders in TSCC are just like gate agents. Very little information on what is actually going on, stiff, formal, little expression, and good at deflecting questions with non-answers.

It helped me to understand the watered-down, lifeless meetings. We are all just waiting at the gate for eternity to start and the gate agents are trying to keep us appeased during the mind-numbing, sensory deprivation experience of church activity.
