The Apostles for TSCC gave themselves the title of "Special Witness to the name of Jesus Christ". What the fukk is a "Special Witness to the NAME of Jesus Christ"?

It means you've seen the name, and you know it's real. ;-)

But I'm not sure what's special about that, because everybody else can see the name exists.

Yeah really, someone answer this.. It used to be "a special witness of Jesus Christ" now they have added 'name of'.

Is this their way of saying, well we've never actually seen JC?
in an inoculating sort of way?

That seems like the most likely reason.

I suppose it is impressive, but I think we cn make the title even more special.

I am an anointed unto the Highest Special Witness and testator to the Savior, even the name of which is, Jesus H. Christ the first, who gives us moisture when called upon to do so.

I believe "a special witness of Jesus Christ " implied actually seeing him which is what all the TBM's I knew believed.

The name change is just another evasion.

Well then. How do they claim authority when they are a special witness to a name that wasn't His?

Call themselves the Special Witnesses of the name of Yeshua/Joshua-ben-Joseph and I might listen.

Last Stake Confurz, we had a 1stQ70 and his underling (AA70). The AA70 kept going on about how blessed we as a stake were to have a "Special Witness" at our conference. I wanted to stand and ask what was "special" about him or his witness. I stayed seated (and married).

Obviously humility is not a prerequisite to becoming a special witness.

Modesty is only important when it applies to teen girls shoulders and midriffs, not when it applies to everyone knowing how high and mighty the lards annointed are.

But they can't talk about it because it's too sacred.

This change came about soon after Tom Phillips went public with the second anointing account. He tells how he really expected to see Jesus. But, of course, just "felt" him. People started publicly questioning whether the asspostles meant the same thing as special witnesses. Some of them were pointedly asked what "special witness" meant. Instead of saying "it means we get to witness a lot of special perks and money going into our pockets," they changed the name.

Legal CYA. Worried about fraud cases?

Maybe they're developing a conscience and it's the only way they can sleep at night. Well, I can dream, can't I?

Weasel words, nothing more...

If you are going to pretend, pretend big time.

Sometimes, it's as if the Q15 etc who are in on the scam are trying to hedge their bets and not anger (too much) a potentially powerful and vengeful God out there somewhere?

They are special witnesses to the "name" of Jesus Christ because their witness in is name only.

In the same sense, I am a special witness to the name of Sheep's Eye Stew. I have never seen it, never tasted it, but, for like a 100% sure, I am a witness to the name of Sheep's Eye Stew.

Reminds me of a kid with a badge that reads: SPECIAL DETECTIVE.

And yes, what is it to be a "witness of the name" of something? We've all seen the name of Jesus, so we're all witnesses to that, aren't we?

So maybe Special Witness is the lowest rank

It's because they have the authority to spell the name in big letters...duh!

It sounds like legal jargon to me. They're afraid of being sued for claiming they witnessed, something that they didn't witness. Witnessing to a name seems pretty safe in comparison.

In the spirit of Sesame Street, I am a special witness to the letter "A". I guess that puts me on par with these special witnesses that the church churns out.

I'm a Special Witness to the joys of hiking in Western Washington, especially Heybrook Lookout;

I'm a Special Witness to skinny-dipping near Quincy, WA in the summers when daylight sees the train 'Empire Builder' pass by the potholes...

I'm a Special Witness to visiting Lake Bronson, LARC, & Fraternity Snoqualmie (recently re-named to Tiger Mtn. Family Nudist Park)...

Love how they declare they are "special" (better, greater as found in the dictionary).

Yes, they are indeed soooo humble as they use this word.

Plus, think of the word "witness" (to see an event, provide evidence as in the dictionary).

So.... we have a 'special' 'witness' to the name of Jesus Christ.

They are not saying, Hey, would you believe LITTLE-OLE ME SAW THE NAME OF JESUS CHIRST

Nope.

As another poster mentioned they specifically and carefully choose their WEASEL WORDS.
