They both make similar claims about the future. They both use some kind of device (olive oil or pointer) to connect with the Spirit world. Both need a human working the magic.

Is there really any difference?

No. They are both based on the old, and now, mainly rejected, magic world view which was strongly held by Joseph Smith and his family. Frankly, Mormonism is an early nineteenth century religion still existing in the twenty-first century by mistake.

Ouija boards let you ask questions and then give answers to
those questions. Patriarchal blessings is just some old guy
going on with a bunch of faith-promoting bloviating. No
specific questions are addressed.

Bloviating - I had to look that up. Spot on!

Can you imagine what kind of power could be generated if you oiled the pointer?!?!?

I've oiled the pointer on occasion.

Priesthood blessings are nice. Ouija board blessings are not nice. Just look at the past thread about the subject and all the scary stories.

Yes, Ouija boards use a marble, priestDUD blessings do not use a marble.

Ouija boards are a great way to mess with gullible people untill you are laughing too hard and fess up to rigging it.

Priesthood blessings abuse conditioned gullible people and children for a greedy scam.

What looks like a very nice Ouija board costs about $20 plus tax and shipping at Amazon. I tried to put in a link, but it contained a forbidden word.

I'm a nevermo, but I suspect that the total cost of the priesthood blessing is higher than that--possibly much higher.
