Could it be the prophet uses Joseph Smith's SEER stone to decide which business and properties to purchase? He places it on a Ouija Board and watches for the rock to move over yes or no or spell out what to do. The seer stone Is not used for religious stuff just business.

This might explain why the do such stupid religious stuff and good business stuff.

Not quite. Even the business decisions are questionable. They could do better just flipping a coin.

....The prophet uses Joseph Smith's Seer Stone for the frog to sit on in his aquarium.

....to prop open his door on a hot summer's evening.

....handy on his night table to clobber an invader.

I always thought the seer stone would make a lovely paperweight, but the swirly design is strangely hypnotizing and might cause the prophet to have a stupor of thought. We wouldn't want that to happen, now would we?

Years ago, at BYU, I ran into my old bishop from Arizona. He
had been a geology professor down there. He took me up to his
office in the Smoot building for a chat. His job now was
watching over the mining investments for BYU.

The Church has all kinds of experts in all kinds of fields with
business as a top-heavy category. If you remember the "law of
sacrifice" in the temple, that means you were willing to give
it all to the Church if asked. That means the Church can call
on the expertise of thousands of Mormons for help managing
their business decisions.

They have a whole army involved in these decisions. The last
thing they'd consider doing is relying on any GA's
"inspiration."

In Mormonism, God is superfluous.
