Mr. Bednar would be well advised not to say such a thing--even hypothetically.

The kinderhook plates, and the Breathing Permit of Horus didn't do their cause any favors.

But having the plates would have helped prove the fraud - like having the "Book of Abraham". Not only that, but JS would have melted them for the gold.

The biggest joke of all is the fact that Mormon and Nephi stated many times how difficult it was to record their history on the plates and were even commanded to produce a second set to replace the lost 116 pages.

The church has only recently admitted in an essay that Joseph didn't even need or use the plates to produce the BoM! It was all done with a chocolate colored stone buried in his hat. Super WTF!
