He was concerned that when the Fort Collins Temple opens later this year, they will lose a third of the people who now work and attend the Denver temple. He was also concerned that the current temple workers will be reduced by a 1/3 and will create problems for the Denver temple.

Ah...that warms the cockles of my cold, black heart.

Thanks for posting.

No job security in the Lord's holy house, huh?
Same market conditions that apply to everyone else.
How about that.

How could that happen in the fastest growing church? Surely there are enough Mormons to populate both temples for they wouldn't have built the second.

I know this couldn't be true, but it almost seems like a ploy to make the church APPEAR to be growing.

That is likely true, or close to it.

Any negative consequence will be blamed on the members. Members in the old temple district will be absolutely harangued to go to the temple more.

My answer to this is "The illusion of More" A.K.A.

How things are miss-represented.

An illustration:
I manufacture paper towels. There are 200 paper towels to a roll. I think that better marketing would be if there were 400 towels to a roll. So I reduce the towel size by ½ . I have now created the illusion of there being MORE towels when actually there is the same amount of paper in each roll.
