Attacks on gays commonplace, not just in Orlando

Anti-gay violence is more than twice as common a hate crime as anti-black or anti-Jew violence.

Institutions whose policies and words provide justification to armed haters to commit violence against gays should be punished--e.g., loss of tax-exempt status.

Speaking as someone whose best friend was hospitalized and had his face permanently damaged by a crowd of anti-gay punks, I would welcome any effort to cut homophobic institutions off at the knees, and the sooner the better.
