"It's sad that there is so much hate towards a church that has only tried to help people. Not one clergy is paid. The missionaries pay $10000 to give up two of their young years proselyting and providing service. No church has spent more on humanitarian efforts per member than Mormons in the past decades, and they help everyone not just members.
"By their fruits ye shall know them"
And: "Yea ! The Mormons rise above all adversity. It's beautiful. For those of you who live in Japan, go through this temple before it's closed, cleaned & opened only to worthy members of the church. It's free. Have a great night everyone." And those just the highlights..."
There aren't. Even if you lump them in with "Christians" they make up less than 1% of the population if I remember correctly.
For most Japanese, I believe they're too common-sense to fall for Mormonism. Everyone I knew here was either a generational Mo or a convert who still hadn't quite grasped what they'd been roped into.
The reluctance to depend on religion for morality or purpose is one major reason I stay here. Don't feel like going back to the home of Mormonism, the good ol' God-fearing USA.
