"Door knockers please note: This household charges $50 per minute to listen to sales pitches and religious messages. This charge is payable in advance. By knocking on this door, you signal your agreement with the terms outlined above."

Hmmm, it does seem that this might work in a lot of cases.

Of course, it still doesn't entirely take care of the Mormons, who will just switch to knocking on your windows, instead, Or peeking in through the windows. Or standing by your car for hours on end. We'll need signs for everything.

peculiargifts noted, re the ubiquity of Mormons:

"Or standing by your car for hours on end. We'll need signs for everything."

You know those little yellow signs people put in their rear windows, "Baby On Board"?

I'd like to have a similar sign: "Mormons In Trunk"

Be sure to add "political messages"

I wish I could fine all the telemarketers and the political pollsters. The do-not-call list is a joke. I know political stuff is still allowed with do-not-call, but enough already.

It seemed like the do-not-call list worked for awhile, but after a few months the calls came worse than ever.

I agree, which is why the ringer is off most of the time on the landline. If there's a legitimate call, they can leave a message. I check the voicemail daily, so if there was a legitimate call, I can call them back.

At least, cellphones now make it easy to block those calls as that do not call list is really a joke. I even use my landline as the number on the voter rolls just so I can keep the ringer off and not have to put up with those calls and surveys during election years.

Used for dialing your mobile phone so you can find it.
