I don't know if any of you are familiar with Findagrave.com, which is a pretty good source for some genealogical information, not that I would ever do that.

I was looking last month in the Brigham City Cemetery for the memorial of the parents of an old friend and I happened to see the "Memorial" for BKP from last year. I love how it's important that we know he is "interred" (not buried) only 2 plots from Lorenzo Snow. I guess that makes him more important. Well, of course he is. I knew that already!

I am sure that the late BKP would be willing to acknowledge that while this information is true, it is not very useful. lol

I found more useful information!

The first photo has a picture of Lorenzo Snow's marker.

Enlarge the picture and we find he was born in 1814.

Now enlarge it more and read the left side of the marker.

We find he lost a child in what appears to be 1888. He would have been 74.

Next we see the info on three wives. Compair their birthdays with his.

Yup true information that is somewhat interesting even if not useful.

Oh, wrong thread? This is about Boyd Packer's grave?

My bad.

Are there spots in the grass that grow a little greener?

I would be inclined to make such spots.

Dollars to Donuts, old Boyd is well preserved in his plot. I'll bet he's in one very expensive coffin (where they sucked the oxygen out and put nitrogen in) that is in a plastic liner, in a cement vault. Mormons like to preserve their dead in homage to the pharaohs of old.

Perhaps, the Morg could call a couple of LDS morticians to an embalming mission in Moscow to learn to duplicate Lenin's preservation. Then the prophets could have their own mausoleum on Temple Rectangle. Just a thought!

Some people might like directions to the plot.

I suspect quite a few people here would either want to dance on it, urinate on it (or worse) or spit on it.

Not that I'm in any way advocating any of these actions, of course.

Fact is that Packer was an evil old man who cared not one jot for the consequences of his words and the damage they did nor did he care one jot about the people hurt as a consequence.

Or, is his burial plot really a ruse and in truth he roams the earth resurrected in the form of a pickle-person (guess who)?

Some people are just too mean to stay dead.

If I had never had any association with Mormonism I would be scratching my head over the title "President" above BKP's name on his headstone. I've seen military titles on headstones before but if I had stayed not Mo I'd be wondering what arrogant bank president wanted his working title on his headstone. Even L. Snow put it after his name with an explanation. Packer seems to think the whole world knew him. They didn't.

The best thing about this is: He's dead.
