This link popped up in an advert on my Facebook. Since I knew the woman, I clicked on it. She is a member of DW's ward, and DW was her Relief Society president when this happened, causing her considerable difficulty due to the public nature of it:

http://uproxx.com/webculture/the-mom-who-hosted-naked-twister-also-allegedly-took-a-multi-party-bubble-bath-with-teens/

Anyway, the article is just from some dumb tabloid of limited credibility, so I quickly skimmed to the bottom. I fixated a bit on the thing about her husband, taking anti-anxiety meds because of "sexual addiction to pornography"--the article's quotation marks, not mine. Two things: 1. This says that while the church thinks people need to be treated for so-called "sexual addiction to pornography," others see the stupidity in that and put quotes around it. And, 2. Now the whole goddamn world knows. That could cause deadly despondency for him. Jeez, Mormons.

Incidentally, this ward hosts a weekly sexual addiction anonymous clinic. That's the only so-called "service" to the local community, a forum in which to shame people and tell them they're abnormal.

I have shared this before, after he confided in her, she had to immediately tell her mom and family and friends about his "addiction". And he had to go through excommunication.

Nothing like some good public shaming for motivation.

"Partner to his recovery?" Right.

Boy, this really demonstrates the evil in Mormonism.

I would have advised that guy to dump the Mormon Church and his wife. How ridiculous!!

She says that she had to hell her mother and his family! How sick.

As a Baptist, though some of you would say we are just as loony, I see this as why we have a better grasp than woman like that.

If your spouse has a pornography problem, it's not a good thing, however, we are ALL sinners and all have fallen short except for the grace of our Lord which saves us.

HOWEVER, the Lord talks about divorce and adultery in the Bible. Looking upon a woman in your heart is adultery IN your heart, but not the actual act.

Divorce, on the otherhand, if you remarry or fornicate, IS doing the actual act of adultery (one reason why some feel ostracized at a Baptist church if they are a divorcee or a divorcee who was remarried...because it can be equated with blatant and brazen adultery).

Divorcing your husband so you can commit a far graver sin openly...isn't really something that is acceptable by hardcore conservative Baptists...but it unfortunately seems to be something that a few Mormons feel to be acceptable.

Kind of puzzling...and in some ways a very sad state to see. Pornography is NOT okay, but to go off and commit adultery because of it...that really is about as much nonsense as I would think it could be.

Of course, many who are atheist have no such constraints...but they don't say they believe the Bible either, which is a BIG difference between them and those who consider themselves Bible loving Christians.

Even Catholics have a poor view of divorce due to the adultery angle. Pornography is NOT an acceptable reason to commit adultery in many Christian religions, it is odd that it is seen as acceptable by some Mormons.

Maybe one of you can answer me this. In Mormonism...If a couple get a divorce due to pornography...can they get a temple divorce, or is it seen as an unjust cause for divorce and hence causing the spouse to commit REAL adultery if they do so?

>>Even Catholics have a poor view of divorce due to the adultery angle.

The Catholic church's stance is that marriages are indissoluble ("What God has put together let no man put asunder.") Marriage is a church sacrament. Couples who divorce must attain a church annulment if they wish to remarry. The word, "adultery" doesn't really come into play. It doesn't come in to the Catholic though process regarding divorce unless there has been actual cheating going on.

Then there is what the church teaches and what Catholics actually believe and practice. The two are not always the same. Most Catholics these days are realistic about divorce. They do what they need to do, and then jump through the church's hoops if desired.

I just read this interview with the woman whose husband had a "porn addition".... My God he looked at some dirty pictures/videos and jerked off. BIG F-IN DEAL! You would think he had sodomized puppies from her reaction.... calling mama, calling clergy.

Maybe if they had a healthy view of sex and she were a bit adventures and not made to feel shameful about being adventurous.

Maybe the girl... and I say that on purpose because although she is an adult she approaches sex like a 12 year old... should play some naked twister with her husband and enjoy a nice bubble bath with him...He probably would not feel the need to use porn as much....

And so what if he does... he may have a much higher sex drive than her..

Sex lives don't need approval from the Bishop

This is a case of the kettle calling the pot black.

She's by far worse than he is in terms of being an unfit parent. They both have some missing wires and loose screws.

It's easier to have empathy for PTSD, depression, and an addiction to porn that he's in therapy for.

What she has done is statutory rape of a minor, breaking many laws that should lock her up for a few years, while placing her children in extreme harm and other kids because of her recklessness and wanton behavior. She is extremely negligent and abusive. And she was ever a "good Molly Mo?" That's incredulous.

She is clearly in need of some serious psychiatric help and rehabilitation. She's a pedophile. Pedophiles don't change their stripes as adults, including after doing prison time. They're a ticking time bomb. Which is why Megan's Law exists to protect the communities they are released to eventually.

To be fair, I'm not sure there was any statutory rape involved.

And what the hell? Rehabilitation? Can't we just use the word help? It sounds so mind controly.

Having sex with a minor is a charge for statutory rape. Do you really believe just because she's a woman it counts for less than if she'd been a guy raping or sodomizing a minor?

And all the other counts/charges of anal/oral sex she's being charged with, the statutory rape isn't going to be all.

Adult pedophiles don't rehab or get help to cure their problem. That's why Megan's Law exists. It's documented fact.

I may have missed it but where did it say that she had sex with a minor? In fact I went back and checked. She pleaded guilty to six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She got six years probation and fined $600. There was no sex crime that she was convicted of.

It really has nothing to do with her being a woman. It has to do with some outdated stereotypes about sex. She is a really bad mother but is she a pedophile?

Megan's law is a dubious law that may infringe on the civil liberties of it's registrants.

Again, I'm not saying that she doesn't have issues to deal with but you have labeled her someone worthy of pushing a stone up a hill.

The article cited said she had sex with her teenage daughter's boyfriend (granted it didn't specify his age other than all the kids at the bubble bath party were teens,) and had oral & anal sex demonstrations with the other teens at the house party.

I'm surprised the woman only got a slap on the wrist!

She's a sexual predator!

This is small potatoes in comparison. But it's how the cult is. He's dirty for watching porn, but her stuff is completely excusible. Kind of like my wife divorcing me because I smoke. Her bigshit is my boss. Caught him chewing tobacco a couple of days ago. Knew I caught him. But, hey. If you are called of gawd you get a pass...Right??
