as I 'know' / understand, the saints Never lived where polyg was legal - wasn't illegal...

Therefore, NONE of them had legal/lawful marriages other than to 1 woman, one man.

THEREFORE, we shouldn't refer to these other women as wives;
instead (sorry to descendants), these women were all Concubines, the children were illegitimate.

What Say ye?

Mormons don't really believe in law and order. If they think that their God wants them to do something, then they will do that thing rather than following the laws of the land.

Very odd, because if the law of the land happens to coincide with what they think their God wants, then they will follow and enforce that law like Nazis or inquisitors.

If everyone is free to pick and choose which laws to follow, then it basically means that there is no law. Chaos, anarchy, and social disorder.

That's why only the prophet gets to pick and choose which laws to obey. He had a little less choice at Carthage, but he did obey the law of gravity.

I may be wrong, but...

Utah was ceded to the U.S. in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848. The mormons arrived there in 1847. As far as I know, polygamy wasn't illegal in the Mexican territory in 1847, though it was (but with a bit of ambiguity) when Utah became US territory in 1848.
So, maybe, for less than one year, they were doing it "legally."
And there's no more question of it being legal in US territories after the Morrill Anti-Bigamy act of 1862 (even though Lincoln told BY that he'd look the other way about the Morrill act if Utah came into the civil war on the Union side). :)

As someone with an "inconvenient" biological father myself, do you really want to do this?

You are talking about real people here.

I'm not native to the Utah corridor and a Never-Mo, but I'm not so sure about Mormons following the Law. I have seen a fair bit of people speeding and other items in other states and cities, but I've never seen it as wholesale as when I drive in South Salt Lake towards the Provo/Orem Areas.

Everyone seems to drive 5-10 miles above the speed limit. I cannot help but wonder if that is reflective of how much they actually adhere to the laws in other respects. If one doesn't follow a simple rule like the speed limit, are they really keeping other laws, or only keeping them when they think they might get caught?

Just something that's crossed my mind multiple times when driving in that area.

Mormons are tools. Gullible screwdrivers.

On certain segments of I-5 here in WA, you're going to be run off the road if u only go 10 mph over...

I was stopped @ 15 over once, didn't get a ticket;
Troopers don't put out info on speeders until-unless you're doing "Triple Numbers"

just sayin'
