How many of the current top fifteen special witnesses for the name of Jesus Christ are attorneys? Three - by the mouth of three attorneys shall the truth be established. Oaks, Cook and Christofferson.

What are the odds that the next vacancy in the top fifteen will be filled by an attorney? Who knows, but the fraternity of LDS lawyers is a "good ol' boys club" that may be in the trenches on the front lines and behind the scenes in what Dallin Oaks is using war-like adjectives to describe "attacks on religious liberty."

Speaking of war, some of these "good ol' boys" thought torture of alleged terrorists was legally ok. Hey maybe those so-called "Courts of Love" that some exmos are subjected to may include "testimony torture" to excise the telestial out of the poor exmo in question. LOL - just joking here.

If interested, here is how and why this "gospel-centered good ol' boys club got started. I believe that Dallin Oaks has taken the protection of the LDS Church on as his personal passion and legal legacy.

Far too many church leaders on all levels are attorneys. I think that makes them be a less than ideal at leading a real church (as opposed to leading a cult). Sometimes they will take a case for the church to make a name for themselves while advancing bad causes. Other times they will use their legal skills and training to defend the guilty at the expense of the innocent.

What's black and brown and looks good on a church attorney? A doberman.

For theologians they have lawyers. For clergy, businessmen. MLM suckers fill out the pews.

Diogenes would walk right past the lot of them, with his lantern finding no light.

the only reason mormonism exists is because of attorneys.

Wasn't Oaks picked specifically for the legal skills that he could contribute?
