Mormons have been calling themselves Latter Day Saints for some 181 years now. 181 years! Joseph Smith lived in the "latter days," and since then, a couple of generations have come and gone.
When first started, the emphasis of the church name was placed on "Latter Day Saints." Since then, they've tried to put the emphasis on The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. Nice touch, but other Christian religions just aren't falling for it.
So I propose that for every generation that comes and goes, the Mormon church has to add another "Latter" to their name. Ah heck, just for easier calculation, we'll say every 100 years.
The Church should officially be renamed to be "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Latter Day Saints." In 2030, the name should change to "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Latter-Latter Day Saints." Obviously the first hundred years the church was formed were not the latter days. And apparently the second hundred aren't either.
