DH's aunt had her 3rd divorce made final on March 7th. Her 3rd marriage was a temple sealing about 3 years ago. She married her 4th husband on March 25th in a Mormon chapel by her bishop. She had been having an affair for several months with the new husband. My take on this is that the Mormon church does not take marriage seriously. What Bishop in his right mind would marry someone within 3 weeks of her 3rd divorce? A judge can do that, but a religious leader of the "family forever" church? What a farce.

Side note: DH's aunt's daughter just came out as a lesbian. Which do you think is more controversial? Divorce, affairs, and four marriages or lesbian daughter? I think you know the correct answer.

thats nothing, my brother-in-laws mom has been married 8 times to 7 guys (yep, she married one twice). but she has never had sex outside of marriage. she is pretty tbm, but not in other areas. one of my favorite quotes of hers is that "you can do whatever you want if you are on vacation". i know she has been sealed to at least one of the guys, but not sure. I try to avoid her.

I worked with one woman who was getting married for the 4th time--even sent out invitations asking for cash . . . and she thought I was a sinner for having sex outside of marriage with my boyfriend. I've been married ONCE and didn't date until my kids were grown. She was dragging a few kids along with her.

I divorced in the 80's and never remarried. I could not count the times I have be asked why I was not married. I developed several good comebacks,,"What and give up my good sex life?"
I have also known several people who have been married several times and as soon as one goes in the dumper,,another one starts. I guess each of us has to figure out what is best for each of us.
