Hi.

I have been lurking on RFM, but would like to log in and post. Is there a list of names already being used? I don't want to steal someone else's moniker, or have one that is too similar.

A work colleague sometimes posts on RFM, using this computer. Will RFM accept posters who share the same computer? I don't want to use my home computer, because I live with Mormons.

I tried posting from my cell phone, and RFM said that I was "spam."

I log on about once a year for a while. I forgot my password and which email I used but I think it's written down somewhere so I'm doing the lurking thing too. I used the email I thought it was and came up with a message that suggested that I may have been inactive too long so I'm in non-login status using the same name. I've been on these boards 10 years though. I don't remember any list of names but if you tried to sign up with a used name I'm sure you'd be prompted to choose another. There are still lots of names out there I'm sure. I'm named after a piece in the board game, "stratego".

If it's taken, the system would let you know and you'd need to take second choice or perhaps third.

No...there is no list of names which is available for registration (or curiosity) purposes.

Try your first choice of name, and if that name is rejected by the system, then try again. (This happened to me several years ago when I tried to register, and that is why I have the username I have now.)

If you are able to use the computer you wish to use to sign up, then that computer is okay. (Only under rare circumstances would a specific computer be NOT okay.)

You can run a potential moniker or monikers by us, if you wish.

If you are a registered board member, RfM will keep you logged in until you log out. So just make sure that your coworker logs out each time before you post. Or, log out for him, then log in with your own moniker.

You shall henceforth be called Rupert.

I think Dave nailed it with Rupert. I just prayed about it and got no answer so it must be a good name to use.
