I can't completely follow this bizarre story out of Australia, but I _think_ a missionary got friendly with a member of an outlaw biker gang and got involved with booze and drugs, and ended up getting battered and choked.

Too weird...

If you haven't seen the tracting missionaries scene from Breaking Bad, I highly recommend looking it up.

It seems to me this missionary would be better off with bikers than Mormons.

Missionary abuse always makes me sad no matter whether Joseph Smith was an idiot.

Obvious question here....Where was the missionary's companion during all those wild biker parties? Just sayin'.

The whole idea of tracting is set in an era that does not exist. There were door-to-door salesmen who hocked cleaning supplies, insurance and the Fuller Brush men who knocked on the door decades ago. They are long gone, but the missionairies are still knocking doors.

It seems like there is a nostalgia for a time that never really existed. The Leave It To Beaver ideal created by television was fiction. Father Knows Best. As if the post-War era was an idyllic dream (a chicken in every pot, a car in the garage, if I am remembering that right)
tough living, our parents worked hard and there simply not
I wasn't around then, but my siblings were. They don't get nostalgic about the 50's. I'm guessing that it was no luxuries. It is a strange throwback to a time that never really happened, and the TSCC is still attempting to recreate it.
