OBEDIENCE brings success, EXACT OBEDIENCE brings miracles.
- Russell M. Nelson

For the church, Obedience is not enough... they want EXACT obedience.

I've heard the phrase repeated often, "Do it, Do it Right, Do it Right Now!"... now we can add.. "NO MISTAKES!"

What a wonderful church!

No, I must not. You know, 'free agency' and all that.
Or did Nelson forget that?

Mormonism does not teach "free agency" anymore. Seriously, they do not. They have changed that doctrine in the past few years (I'm uncertain when) to "moral agency." I can't say when they did that, because it appears that they purged/changed all references of "free agency," replacing them with "moral agency." Their definition of "moral agency" is hard to decipher, but I think it means "obedience."

I had it explained to me that moral agency IS free agency. You are free to choose any path that is moral. And moral is defined by Mormonism. I think this is akin to forced volunteerism.

Do these sheep have even one ounce of common sense?

kick @$$ if you didn't stick to the script?

Has there been a change of alliance since I left? Are they now batting for "the other side," as it were??

Mormon God… always looking for an out. A way to renege on the deal. A way to screw over his faithful followers.

"Too bad for you, Sister Sixkids. You came SO close, but were only 99.7% obedient. No miracle for you. SUCKER!"

Considering the church's current lack of success and miracles, the Q15 must be having a real problem with obedience, let alone exact obedience.

Lead by example, guys!

Maybe they need another Paul H Dunn to make up amazing miracles...

Reminds me of a book by Paul H. Dunn called, "I Challenge You, I Promise you." Dunn's message was basically that if you are a good obedient mormon, obeying all the silly rules, there's a promise of blessings and a good life. Ha!

I was the only TBM of three daughters. My two sisters were wild, drank and had sex before marriage to nevermos they met in bars. I was the good one - followed the commandments, went on a mission, etc. My nevermo sisters both married and have comfortable lives. I never married - rejected the hot nevermo guys who liked me because they didn't have the priesthood, am alone, broke, and have no hope. I have almost given up on life. Obedience to boloney doesn't bring rewards.

To the Enoch guy... this is the wrong venue for your posts.

Your posts has been removed.

If you want to talk about angels/demons/spells/magic, go find another spot.

Thanks!

I think I remember being taught that you can tell if a person is living the gospel because he will be successful. A sinner will be destitute.

From what I have seen it's a mixed bag. That was one of the things that showed through the facade of TSCC. Why is so and so being blessed so much when I know he is a sociopath and cheats on his wife every chance he gets?

Mind numbing obedience. Only then do they own you lock, stock, and barrel.
