"It has been called to our attention that there are some among the various pro-white and white supremacy communities who assert that the Church is neutral toward or in support of their views. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the New Testament, Jesus said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:37-39). The Book of Mormon teaches “all are alike unto God” (2 Nephi 26:33).

White supremacist attitudes are morally wrong and sinful, and we condemn them. Church members who promote or pursue a “white culture” or white supremacy agenda are not in harmony with the teachings of the Church."

I have to wonder if they would have made the statement if were not threatening TSCC's image by being linked to alt-right publicly.

Probably not. You should check out @apurposefulwife on twitter. She's melting down over the church's statement. But they won't discipline her.

LDS inc MORmON breathUrine actually quote from the BOM -the MORmON book of supposed scripture that contains the dark skin is a curse from god doctrine, to back up their (phony) stance.

AMAZING !!!

That being the case, so when are you going to cancel /nullify all of their sealings to their plural wives ????

Except that in the BOM the wicked were given skins of blackness which disappeared when they were righteous.

Good for them.
Now, as others have mentioned, if they'd only come clean about their BoM being racist filth.
And apologize (not just try to explain away with a hard-to-find essay) for their abysmal and doctrinal racist past (not so long in the past). And make sure members who make racist comments or do things like apurposeful wife are publicly condemned, admonished, and ex'd if they continue "unrepentant."

Then they'll have caught up to the rest of the world of the late 1960's on "race." Only 50+ years late. Then they can start working on honesty in all the other areas they're lying sacks of sh*t.

So the church issues a statement. They even quote a dead so-called Prophet. But who was it that really issued the statement? No person's name was credited for the statement. Do religious corporations have enough life to spontaneously generate statements on their own, without human inputs? Was it some low-paid geek in the church's PR department that issued the statement? Just like the Essays, there is no author credited with the statement. The statement is hollow, and without credibility. It's not docterine, it's only policy. Perhaps Gordon Hinkley just spoke as a man. We'll never know because this anonymous author (whoever he or she is) quoted a dead man.

So, why can't President Monson issue a statement? Why can't one of his counselors, or an Apostle make a statement condemning racism? Doesn't the mormon church have someone with a real heartbeat who is willing to go on the record personally, about this topic? The latest, most significant words we have from real, living and breathing church leaders on the topic of racism, are decades old, from Mormon church leaders who supported racism and who condemned people from the black race as being from the line of Cain, damned because their skin color was made black by god, to let the world know who the pre-earth-life sinners were so that people of other races would know who to discriminate against.

Today's mormon church isn't even run by so-called Prophets and Apostles at all. It's run by business men who know better than to let an Eccliastical leader speak about anything publicly. The church is only a business, nothing more. If I am wrong, let's see some real docterine, from one of the church leaders, not a statement from an un-named author.

When was the last the prophet issued a public statement? Why have a prophet at all?

What BY would have said...

"It has been called to our attention that there are some among the various pro-white and white supremacy communities who assert that the Church is neutral toward or in support of their views. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Church is not neutral. The Book of Mormon teaches 'And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.' (2 Nephi 5:21).

White supremacist attitudes are called morally wrong and sinful by some, but we cannot condemn them. Church members should promote or pursue a “white culture” or white supremacy agenda so as to be in harmony with the teachings of the Church."
