The only quibble I have w/ this OpEd in the SLTrib is that he claims "About 40 years ago, the Mormon clergy “abandoned” its sinful racist doctrine. And recently it vehemently reiterated a very firm stance against its sin of yesteryear."
When they never did any such thing.
Mormon scriptues are still full of the most racist verses in all of holy writ.

As an LDS apostle, the current president of the LDS Church
upheld, and supported the racist doctrines and policies of the
LDS Church before June of 1978. He has never apologized for
that.
