"Titled the “Nashville Statement,” the document also asserts that God created two distinct sexes, that sex should only occur within the bounds of heterosexual marriage, and that “it is sinful to approve of homosexual immorality or transgenderism.”"

a) I don't give a flying f*ck what these guys think.

b) I don't care if they "approve" of it or not. They can "disapprove" and call it "sinful" if they want to. What they can't do is deny people human rights because of their disapproval.

Hey, evangelical leaders: it's the 21st century. Not the 18th. We (meaning most of the world) have tossed your bigotry out the window and are moving on. See ya.

:::sarcasm::: and as for those intersex people who God obviously made that way, we're going to keep on pretending they don't exist.

Let's let this Mormon girl explain it for ya.

This is why religion is dangerous. When has religion ever been on the leading edge of knowledge and progress? Never

MEMO to American Evangelical Religious Leaders:

Man has once again updated their God. The vast majority of people voting agreed to upgrade his Godly Qualities and added kindness, inclusion, and love for all with actual understanding of what it means to be human. Oh, and this time he gets to realize that people's sexuality is innate. Sorry you missed the meeting but the vote still would have gone through.

When people create their deities, or update them, we get to see the changes are actually just mirroring a kinder society. Give one hope--for a few minutes, anyway.

D&D says: "...people's sexuality is innate..."

Thank you for that word - innate. I've been saying "it's genetic", in support of the LGBTQ community, in order to counter those who insist that LGBTQ people "choose to be that way" (and, of course, said critics indicate that is a wrong choice).

But 'innate' nails it. That's what I am going to say from now on. Thanks D&D!

First they entrench, then they retrench.

Yea, well we didn't want them anyway because their opinion were dangerous to all the other believers.

The last gasp of a dying whale.

What is it about religion that makes people so fact-resistant?

There are petitions on FB by other Christian groups condemning the statement. Many, many Christians were no part of this and many are condemning it.
