We have a vigorous Sikh community in one part of our State. My son worked for a Sikh-owned security company that was hired, on one occasion, to do security for a big Sikh community festival.
While Son is not religious, he has great respect for the Sikh community. I think he worked for them prior to 9/11, so the confusion with Muslims was not yet an issue.
Son's only criticism at one event was that "They don't eat meat. And that's too bad, because their food is GREAT!"
Mormons are heckled on this board 24-7. I have mixed feeling on this. I think a lot of religions and kookie belief systems get a free pass because society has gotten so politically correct. The Sikh handled himself well in the video and I admire him for that. But Sikh beliefs are no more valid than Mormon beliefs. If the topic of this site was a the Sikh religion it might be accused of being a hate site--which it isn't. I just don't want to see the day when charlatan beliefs can hide behind political correctness.
