No one seems to have addressed the great KUER program last night on Mormons and homosexuality, featuring Gregory Prinz. We were going back from SLC to Pocatello, and caught the whole broadcast. Because DW was a captive audience, she listened to the whole thing, featuring quotes by GA's, reports of private meetings with church authorities, why the church instituted the new ruling (avoiding lawsuits by gay parents if their kids were to hear negative teachings in church on homosexuality), where the church will go next after having lost not just the battle, but the war, and how over 10% of members in one stake alone had submitted resignation letters as a result. It's still up in podcast form on the KUER website.

How did your wife take it? Did she react?

Sounds like an amazing broadcast

Meant for Tom, but I screwed up: She stayed real quiet. She still doesn't believe that the GA's ever have differing opinions, or that they are ever wrong in their judgement or planning. Of course, this program illustrated several atimes that Mormon leadership misjudged and were caught flat-footed over and over, and not prepared for the blow-back it caused. According to the program, there is a lot on worry now about how to play this out, and how to keep the doctrine clean without having more members bolt.
