Who knows if the LDS church purchased gold and diamond cufflinks for the alleged Mission President in an unaccounted for "stipend".

It's a sacred/secret.

Diamonds from central Africa aren't cheap. My diamond cuff links cost me an AK-47 and a carton of cigarettes.

Well, they got the MP's Rolex.
Nothing about gold and diamond cuff links.

Perhaps the church should re-think having a bunch of rich white guys wearing Rolex watches roll into one of the poorest countries in the world, flaunting their material "blessings." Seems like they're just asking for trouble...

From the article:

"During the attack, the assailants reportedly took the mission president's Rolex watch and a cell phone, and Nelson was reportedly kicked in the face. The day after the attack, the Nelsons reportedly attended a stake conference meeting in the area as they had planned."

..The day after the attack, Nelson (being kicked in the face and all...) STILL made it to the meeting!

Doesn't that sound like some faith-promoting hogwash like Daniel casually walking out of the lions' den, or those two in the book of mormon who emerged from the jail or the fire or whatever nonsense that was?

Yeah, riiiiiiiight!

Diamonds are one the of the most over priced commodities in the world. If all the stocks of diamonds were released onto the market their price would fall through the floor. It is because virtually all diamonds in the world are tightly controlled by a cartel that prices remain high.
