Before you decided to have a kid, before moving (because of ward boundaries), before....well...anything!?

I ask, because....(OK, OK, I admit it--I've been looking at that *other* site, and a lot of people have been posting selfies of their ex-mo selves, and it must really grind the church's grist because almost all of them look so classically--mormon!)

Anyway, someone was talking about how their marriage almost fell apart because one was still TBM, but her shelf broke, and now they feel like they're really falling in love with each other "...instead of just with the idea of eternal blessings and having a righteous family."

When I "read it" I wondered how many TBM's really, actually have EVERYTHING revolve around TSCC.

When my brother told me years ago he and his wife prayed before having sex I just went on a different conversation path because it was freakish.......

I was living in an apartment a few years ago. A young couple lived in the next apartment. Almost every night I heard her praying, "Oh god, oh god, oh god." Not sure if she was TBM.

Just guessing, but I'll bet her her prayers were answered in the affirmative if she prayed "Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god.......yesss!!!!"

For at least an hour around 1am nearly every night.

I tried -- really, really, really tried -- to consult mormon god through prayer before making decisions as a teen and a missionary.

I really wanted Elohim to tell me what to do when I was unsure.

It's just...he never did. No matter how much I asked. I never got any kind of "answer." Which left me with own thoughts and emotions to go on, the same as if I'd never prayed.

So eventually, I stopped asking. :)

Me too. I could not figure out how other people got answers all the time but I never did. I decided it was because Ii was unworthy. But I never figured out how the other people got to be so worthy.

I considered the church when I was trying to figure out why I hated myself. I considered the church when I decided to go to USU instead of BYU. I considered the church when I decided to get out of Utah. I consider the church whenever I decide to drive through Utah on a Sunday instead of a Saturday because I-15 is way less crowded with everyone at church. So, yeah, I consider the church so I can avoid it.

I always consider what the Morg’s position is on things, then take or do the opposite. Then only exception is smoking. I’ve taken a few puffs with friends, but can’t see any reason to develop the habit.

Yes, moving. It destroyed me financially.

The people posting the selfies look...happy. They look happy. And to me, they look like individuals. Some have colorful streaked hair, or piercings, or tats, or porn shoulders, or cleavage. They are doing what they want to do with the precious time that they have been given, whether that's spending time with family, hiking, or what have you. Their lives are their own now.

One new thing -- I'm noticing that exmos are starting to gleefully state that their young children were born nevermos. A lot of young people are leaving the Mormon church.
