Well, here's the carol "Away in a Manger" after several passes through various languages, including Basque and Yoruba...
Fear in the house, not bedding,
The boy, whom he just wanted, lifted his head.
The stars look at the sky in the sky
The little Lord Jesus slept in the grass.
Bike drinks, after the baby is over,
But Jesus, the little boy did not call.
I love you, Lord Jesus! look from heaven,
And next to my bed until morning.
Hide me, Lord Jesus. I asked him to wait
Allow me forever and you love me.
Protect children from jail,
And come to heaven to be with you.
(the original:
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes.
I love thee, Lord Jesus! look down from the sky,
And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
And take us to heaven to live with thee there.).
Unfortunately, it didn't make this maudlin text any better...
