In anticipation of your article to be published after Tuesday's big announcement on the new FP counselors: do not opine that the new choices portend anything. There will be no exciting new directions for the LDS church. There will be no breaths of fresh air or possibilities for change and innovation. It simply won't happen.
We on this site have been waiting for decades, some of us, for signs of any real alterations in the way the church does things. Still waiting.
Anticipating new developments for the church is rather like making predictions about soap opera plots. It's all made up as they go along.
Thank you.

My inside informant says that starting with the next conference, they will be translating the entire transcript into both reformed egyptian and unreformed ex mormon. Hilarity ensues.
They’ve known all along that it’s a fraud. The church’s scriptures are known, by anyone who cares to know, to be fabrications. If anything, they’ll invent new bogeymen to distract their followers in hopes they won’t start asking questions.
They should have a good run with the “porn problem” bogeyman, maybe enough to retire the gay bogeyman.
Certain he'll declare, "At 93 I'm just plain tired of the pretense, exhausted of playing the game so let's get down to the heart of things, 'cause I'm good at heart stuff, you know. Ole Joe was just a charasmatic conman who deceived and hurt lots of people and we followed right in his footsteps.
Don't know how all this is going to work out, but it is more than time to give it a try.
