What "Pastor James Collins" says at 1:09:00 was especially moving to me, that your worth is not defined by the money you give to some pastor.

I remember so many times being told by parents that "we always pay tithing and that's why we've always been fine financially" or by the Mormon church "give us tithing [not any church, just us] and the windows of heaven will open."

The hypnotic methods used by faith healers on crowds that Derrin Brown shows how they are done were probably something that Joseph Smith also used way back in the 1800s. All it takes is a charismatic personality who's learned how to work a crowd, and they can suck people dry of everything they have.

Darrin Brown is an amazing individual. For a short time, he had a weekly television show. The show opening always stressed that Darrin makes no claims of having any special powers, and that everything you are about to see uses no magic (paraphrasing from memory). Then he proceded to do amazing things that no human being should be capable of doing. Sometimes, he would disclose afterward how he did it and you would go from near dis-belief in what you had just seen, to seeing how what he did was not just possible, but in some cases, relatively easy. His best feats though usually never got disclosed.
