I haven't realized it when I was meeting with missionaries but they are annoying! And start pressuring you to be baptized on a date they set!they say have you prayed about the book of Mormon? Or Joseph Smith didn't have many wives! Or we know there is proof for the book of Mormon! I have prayed and felt it is true

And when you tell them I found the real truth out and don't want to be baptized! They say what concerns do you have? You said you had a testimony! Just pray and then we are sorry you feel that way! They are annoying!

What are your concerns? That’s when you hand them the CES letter.

They are children. They mostly parrot what they are told.

Six year olds can have good manners which means that teens can also be polite.

Teens being polite? I think that ended around 15 years ago. You're lucky if they remember to breath while texting let alone being interactive wnd polite.

All salesmen are annoying IMHO.
Even ones selling a product I *want.*

When it's a product I don't want (like mormonism), the annoyance factor goes up by 10...

Annoying is the definition of a missionary

Because they don't want to hear the good stuff. Even good comments disappear.

I've always considered missionaries "off limits". Having been one many years ago I concede that I didn't know what the hell I was doing peddling religion. I put on a suit, kept clean-shaven, and sold sunshine in a book for two years. Missionaries are young kids who don't know what they don't know. That said, they are annoying on several levels.

The more annoying idea is that TSCC keeps sending out teenagers who lack life experience and wisdom to do the work of old men. If you read the Bible you know that JC sent prophets and apostles into the countryside to proselyte. Why aren't the FP and the QOTT doing their jobs as missionaries? If I were still active LDS, that is one question I would have for Gospel Doctrine class on Sunday.

I have also always wondered why it's never the older men doing the missions. And never the actual "leaders". Everybody knows d@mn well that they have the money.

They're 18-19; guys at that age are annoying, anyway. They're fully invested; they feel a sense of desperation when they are looking for recruits. Their so-called "success" and possibly future "success" in the church depends on your acceptance; they are desperate to prove to the mission president and family that they have been a successful missionary, even if others are not.

This is true, everything depends on if they served the entire mission and how well they did on it. This will determine how they will be treated for the rest of their days in the cult and how they are seen in the eyes of their cult family.

But exmos and nonmos didn't come up with this system and it isn't their job to prop it up. Our job is to recover from this kind of craziness. Better to insulate ourselves from it not take it onto our shoulders since we're not in charge of fixing it.
