Did Orrin Hatch grovel at the feet of Trump about being the best President ever in order to keep Porter's security clearance conveniently hidden?

Porter worked for Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, he was a BYU and Yale graduate and Rhodes scholar. How could he be more perfect to save the constitution that many mormons believe is hanging by a thread. They both had high regards for Porter and saw him as having a potential career in top government.

I have never in my life seen Hatch be such a sycophant butt- kisser. It was odd & weird and out of character for him.

I know a lot of mormons work for the FBI, CIA, and federal government and live in D.C. What went on between bishops & stake presidents who were also FBI people? Porter's wives needed professional help and the church wanted to keep them silent.

And what made Chaffetz bolt out at lightening speed?
Weird.

"And what made Chaffetz bolt out at lightening speed?"

The fact that he spent years chasing Hillary over trivial stuff, only to be proven wrong. The fact that his new responsibility was to look into Trump and do his duty as a Congressman of the oversight committee. He knew what Trump is, and abdicated his responsibilities to his oath of office and the American public. He's a sniveling, GOP boot licker, and history will remember him as such.

Chaffetz left IMHO, because he could see that he'd be spending his oversight duties investigating Trump against Chaffetz own party interests. Trump's victory u it and into others made Chaffetz position a political dead end instead of harrasssing Hillary endlessly.

Because Chaffetz has no ethics except hard right party purity second only to his personal power trajectory, it was time to abandon ship.

Hatch was always open about his desire for a seat on the supreme court. That's why he spent so long on the judiciary committee.

I think this year Hatch faced the reality that Trump was going to get to appoint a few new supremes and that this was his own last chance. That's why he backed off of his earlier critique of the president and started kissing posterior.
