There's a moral to that story but I'm trying to figure out what it is.

If I ever write a story with a moral, I'll be damned.

I haven't read the tale, but I suggest you just forgive her. People who are upset, for good or poor reason, need to work out the issues at their own pace.

To announce the ire of an elderly person, any elderly person, is a waste of time, effort and decent intent.

Pray for her. Forgive her.

If you read it you would see that there's nothing to forgive. I don't know why you bring forgiveness up when it doesn't apply. What ever are you thinking?

Someone said, “A story should snap closed like a well-made box.” This one does, and so does “North Falls.”

I love how you end a story without elaboration or opinion. It’s “Here’s what happened. Period.” They almost have a journalistic pace to them. There’s no waste. —I love that about your stories, Don. :)

Thank you, Kathleen. "North Falls" does close like a jail door. I hope you enjoy my next book. It's much longer.

And now I've read it, wow! Another great one, Don. I8 particularly loved "God is like the spirit of an old fart trapped in a foam cushion"...
