Thank goodness for that. Btw, what is EQ pres & what do they do?? Lds positions have different title/names than i've ever been accustomed to. i.e. never knew of a church to be called a ward or a visitor to be called an investigator. Do not know all of the titles &/or chains of command, etc.
Mormon priesthood is divided into several sections. First is the Aaronic Priesthood which is teenaged boys: Deacons 12-13, Teachers 14-15, Priests 16-17. At 18 if you are "worthy" you receive the higher or Melchizedek Priesthood. This contains 2 groups, Elders and High Priests. Initially one becomes an elder, and if you get promoted to certain leadership positions (bishopric, stake presidency, high council) you become a high priest. Otherwise, after you get old enough you become a high priest.
As to what the EQP does, he is in charge of the elders quorum (under the direction of the bishop and stake president, of course). He is responsible for assigning home teachers, getting "volunteers" to help members move, or do other service assignments.
