Adam, they'll scope you to accomplish this procedure, and they'll probably look around while they're in there, but you should be sedated enough that it isn't a huge problem. You may have some residual soreness for ten days to two weeks, but it's nothing compared to the pain of an esophageal obstruction.

It hurts just to swallow small pills god d@mn. The nurse told me a few days not ten days but she was probably lying to me.

It was close to two weeks for my wife. It varies form person to person. It's usually very minor discomfort, though, compared to an actual acute episode.

Alright i'll anticapate a two week deal. Had my hopes up it would fix me right away without a recovery.

Was your wife hurting pretty bad the first day?

Yes, I'm sure they scoped her.it's the standard method. they insert balloon catheter through the scope the scope. They usually capture a few images while they're in there.

I see, so if there was another problem in the esophagus they would have seen it for sure?

She had some discomfort but was able to resume normal activities that didn't involved heavy upper body exertion on Day 3.

You've heard the old joke, right?

A man goes into a doctor and says his hand is really hurting.
The doctor says he's got a broken wrist, and they need to do surgery, then put it in a cast for a month.
The man asks the doctor, "Will I be able to play the violin afterwards?"
The doctor says, "Of course!"
"Oh, good," the man says. "I've never been able to before!"

:)

Maybe you'll be a fine tenor after this!

I am a good singer but not many know this because my father always showed off his singing for every d@mn song in church. It would break his ego i think to find that i am a better singer without training or practice than him. And i don't want to be a show-off about it. I always wanted to be a lead guitarist in a band but i was just not made to play that instrument. Tenor is actually too high, i sing baritone and bass really well.

Howdy Badass, I tried to post earlier today, but got a message about database connection failing...

I’m glad you’re through it. I hope that this helps alleviate more pain. Some family members have had the stretching and it worked wonders.

Adam, you’re an amazing mean. You’ve had some real serious shit and have come through it. Your posts reflect healing, recovery, and wisdom.

Sometime, look back on what you wrote over the last year. I don’t have words to express the respect I have for you. You’ve taken on surgeries, pain, and a cult. I think you’ve set a record for figuring the Morg out and for putting things back together.

Badass, you’re f#ck### awesome!

When do i get to the good part boner when i am done fixing sh#t and healing and get to live a real life. That's all i want to know haha when is the hell finally over. The pain, the cult, the deprogramming. When the f#ck does it end. Feel like i have to tare the cult down with my bare hands or something.

And i will tare it down if they don't tare it down themselves. And I will do it without violence. I have been getting surgeries since 2015 one after the other and been deprogramming for a year and a half. Don't underestimate the rage of a kid almost destroyed by a cult. That's the real adam, not the ptsd adam created to survive their hell on earth.

My family is pretty good in the genetics department, but a couple of my brothers and I have that similar thing--it sucks to get something stuck in there, because there are few nerves so you get not much straight up pain, but more of a weird "I'm gonna die 'cause there's a 2X4 stuck in my throat" feeling.

Good luck and clear sailing.

Yes it's i am going to die pressure. I am afraid to swallow pills right now haha. I had the thought that all pain and problems would be cured instantly right after procedure but it has not been the case with me so far. So i distract myself by typing on here and blowing off some steam.

Hopefully this worked when the soreness dies down. Too hard to tell if it alleviated any pain yet. But if it worked i expect another hurdle to get in my way even if it isn't a physical problem. For some reason i always feel like i have to fix as much sh#t as i can so i am not as vulnerable or something.

If the soreness you're feeling now is mostly in the same place that it hurt you when pills became lodged, odds are that the procedure did what it was supposed to do. There are the rare people who experienced negative effects, but for the vast majority, the procedure is effective.

Alrighty good to know. I just thought there would be no pain for some reason, now that it is stretched out.

Think about it. If you stretch any muscle in your body beyond the degree to which it is accustomed to being stretched, you have temporary residual soreness.

I see. I am less sore today than yesterday that's for d@mn sure. Glad there is a doctor on the board it does help a sh#tload believe it or not so i don't panic about normal effects of procedures. Appreciate your knowledge always.

Adam, I'm glad to reassure you, but please keep in mind that only you know the pain you're experiencing. If at any point the pain seems to you to be beyond what should be normal for more than a few minutes, you need to contact your health care provider.

A certain degree of soreness is normal, but anything beyond that could be a sign of something having gone wrong. I don't wish to worry you, as it sounds as though you're recovering normally, but do be aware of your body and what it is trying to tell you.

They say it's effective for the most part. Small risk of taring. I am less sore today than i was yesterday that's for sure. So maybe it's going to work. Forgot how much he said he widened to, i was coming out of anaesthesia but it looked like a quarter circumference or maybe slightly bigger or smaller than a quarter.
