Anything that starts with "The TSCC claims" should be immediately discounted.

The church doesn't even take its own words and publications seriously. They reverse course on a dime.

So yes, that is one of the many things they have changed over the years. And no, it doesn't matter. Living prophets, after all.

The 1970's were the good old days. Before DNA. Back when you only had to deny archeological science to be a good TBM.

It's about 8,500 miles from Middle East to say...Guatemala. So, even with "fierce winds" I think that would only take a couple or three months.

But's more dramatic to say a year...sort of like Lehi taking months to travel in the desert when it should have taken him about 3 weeks.

OTOH, the Jews left Egypt and wandered for 40 years on a trip that should taken about a week and a half.

as seminary students in the 1970's, we were endlessly hammered with the notion that the ancient America's were completely empty, held back in reserve waiting for who ever was chosen to be brought to THE promised land of the western hemisphere, which just happened to be the Jaredites and then Lehi's group.


then came DNA evidence and MORmONISM'S need for the (UTTER BS) limited geography theory to try to explain away Book of MORmON discrepancies with scientific realities.

after all of that STRENUOUS early morning seminary indoctrination, people like me are NOT supposed to remember MORmON claims made just a few decades earlier
