There’s a nice, big, electornic bilboard on I-15–

Scientology—We know your interested in us
Then a website address.

Dear Church of Scientology, we already have one cult, please go away! Sincerely the non-interested Boner.

Cult-ology at work.

Maybe they figure since Mormons already belong to one, it isn't much of a change to jump ship. If only they knew ....

It makes sense that they have done at least a modicum of research on the issue of attempting to expand into SLC, and that since they are spending money in SLC, said research must have indicated it was worth the effort.

I'd love to know how they did their research and the results.

I am especially curious whether it indicated that Scientomalogy has a chance of being a 'refuge' for those leaving TSCC...

Dawg, there was a very visible Church of Scientology on 400 South right across the street from the fairly new Salt Lake Public Library. It closed :)

Interesting. We have had contact with many ex-Mos here and in real life and I am unaware of an ex-Mormon turning to Scientology. I am sure it happens, but is has to be rare. The billboard is probably for disaffected teenage Mormons or young non-Mormons who could be vulnerable. I hope Scientology fails.

Eric, I also wondered if the C of S contracted for x-amount of advertising space across the country, and the ad was simply part of a nation-wide recruiting campaign due to Leah Remini’s work. Hugs, Bro!

I may be wrong, but doesn't scientology thrive on the Hollywood crowd?

If that's the case, then perhaps scientology isn't targeting converts but trying to remind its Utah members to come back.

Just a thought.

They have new SLC location on 7th East South Temple. Space aliens, Kolob - probably should rent office space at COB.

There needs to be a counter-campaign against Scientology. Something like ...

"Scientology? Watch 'Going Clear' first."

I can't imagine that Scientology is selling well these days. There is simply too much negative information out there about it. Perhaps the Scientology authorities are trying to pick off the Mormons who are leaving their church.
