It looks like a rhino or hippo, not a stegosaurus.

Grasping at anything to disprove evolution and the age of the Earth.

Well, it's not a dinosaur.

It does not look like a dinosaur to me.

One of the really silly beliefs that I hear is the idea that fossils are a relatively recent phenomena. That could be a depiction of a dinosaur so what? If we could unearth it so could they.

Should I be offended at cultural appropriation of the Flintstones?

This claim has been around for quite a while.

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/stegosaurus-rhinoceros-or-hoax-40387948/

There several common threads with these kinds of hoaxes, and this one contains one of the most common. And that is, somebody washed the damn thing. If they hadn't washed it, it may have been possible to collect lichen and/or pollen from the surface of the carving. A sample the size of a pin head will do. This can then be run through an Accelerated Mass Spectrometer for a C-14 date. This would give you the youngest date that the carving could be. But, they washed it so no AMS date.

In my opinion, it's either recent, was recently modified, or some critter carved stylistically.

Golden Plates, Kinderhook Plates, Decalogue Stones, NHM, etc, etc.

At least von Danniken was more fun...
