There's some daylight between what Mormons 'think' (believe) & what they Do.

I think Mormons would rather be 'finders' than 'seekers';

on one hand, they want to believe the have Everything they need to go to the CK, …

they still think they need to 'hang on to every word from the prophet's mouth'...

a slight bit of ? there, you say? So do I.

the excessive applications of exceptions / excuses in everyday LDS life... isn't that bewildering to most of them, at least those who ponder things?

as usual, your contributions / comments are Welcome!

The more you learn and discover, the more you realize that list of "what you don't know" is growing at an exponential rate.

Mormons don't learn anything or discover anything because they are convinced that they already know it all/have it all, at least all that is necessary. Like you say, "they want to believe they have Everything they need to go to the CK . . ." This is exactly my parent's thinking and so they are interested in nothing that isn't CK related.

And that is why Mormons will never have the joy of realizing how much they don't know. Because that opens the doors to exploration and gives one the satisfaction that comes from learning.

The word "know" is a double edge sword.

That is my thought about your thought--for the day---which I enjoyed.

This is true, i was actually thinking a few hours ago and this is no joke, that i really don't know that much. I was born and raised in a very closed environment and thinking and getting outside that bubble was very difficult to do. Only in public school did i feel somewhat free of that very closed environment and closed thinking. It's pretty bad to admit at my age that i really don't know anything except surviving to the next day really.

That was what first lead me (to the truth) 'out' a few year back (after a few decades of [free-agency] n-ACTivity), LDS doublespeak.

That coupled with everything else, like lies, cover-ups, idol worship, loftiness, craftyness, unfair treatment, lack of concern, dullness, etc.

They always say these hi things.
End up doing all these low things.

If it was just One Arrow thru Mormonism, it would be dead now, but instead, they're surviving a thousand cuts.

Yea, they're so far out (not in a good way), they don't think of themselves as far out.

Reason? Not think!

There is a certain satisfaction to be gained from not caring if there is a CK...or a supreme being for that matter. It is very liberating. TBM's will never know that feeling and the peace of mind it can bring for not having to worry about what you say or believe and who's listening.
