John Jacques was a LDS hymn writer and Mormon church historian.

Looks like he missed some essentials of church history. Can only imagine the big coverup that existed when he joined as one of the early church members.

Hey, I just re-read my post, and it's pretty good! (pats self on back)

A huge percentage of what TBM's think of as "truth" is flat out false, and since TSCC conflates "truth" with "fact", I'd wager that a huge percentage of TBM's believe a lot of "facts" that are not true!

Convoluted, but I hope you get my drift.....

to me, Facts are something that can be repeated by impartial persons...


that The holocaust was a Truth, but the number of 6 M (jews, gipsys, & others) is an estimate (Most large numbers ending with 0's are)


It used to be a 'fact' that smoking causes cancer, but some people smoke most of a long life without getting it.

Same with 'Speed Kills'; what about the astronauts?

It's a fact that (about) 110 men/women/children were murdered at the MMM, I believe it's a Truth that BY instigated it.

It's a fact that lung cancer is the #1 cause of cancer deaths in the nation. And that tobacco is the leading cause for lung cancer, for not only smokers but second hand smokers.

As my oncology doctor told me when he gets lung cancer patients in who ask him how can they minimize getting lung cancer, and he smells tobacco on them .. he politely tells them they need to quit smoking. That's the #1 way to prevent lung cancer.
