I would like to forget about Mormons when I'm not on RFM. Does the LDS church have some kind of contract with Yahoo?

I really don't fully understand the implications of "OATH" which Yahoo continually wants me to agree to--it sounds too mormon-ish and gives me the creeps.

But I got some OATH thing just today, asking if I want to manage my ads. It sounds like it wants you to agree to have data mined from your emails to send you ads of all kinds. It appears to have signed me up even without me clicking "agree."

Funny, just before I checked in here, I was trying to get rid of Yahoo for that reason.

OATH looks a lot like OBEY, and it started popping up on Yahoo mail.

About a year ago, there were LOTS of Mormon-esque clues on Jeopardy! which is one of my fav shows;

Shortly after I sent a ltr to the Exec. Producer pointing this out, they... Stopped!

coincidence you say? I Don't Think So.

I think the Mormon leaders are finding new ways to get the word out that they exist! Where I live, people tend to say: "Mormon? What's that?" Where I attend church, a rumor has been spread that I used to be a Jehovah's Witness, because nobody seems to know what a Mormon is.

OATH is spyware. In order to use Yahoo’s services now, one is required to allow them to spy on you in order to tailor their advertising.

If anyone knows of a good, web-based email service that is NOT Yahoo or Google, please do advise!
