Let's say...

You were born. Now, your mom had you via in vitro fertilization so she never met your daddy but she tells you she knows he exists and tells you that he loves you. While you were growing up, your mom kept talking about your daddy and that your daddy wants you to grow up to be good. You ask to see daddy. She does not want to tell you about the in vitro fertilization so she says you cannot actually see him, because he went to heaven, but you can visualize him when you close your eyes and you can talk to him that way. You ask for a picture of your daddy. Your mom finds an old picture of her deceased father, a white haired and bearded old man and tells you that is what daddy looks like.

Your mom catches you masturbating. She tells you that you will never be able to see your daddy if you keep doing that. She writes a set of rules she said came from your daddy about things you must do (go to church) and must not do (masturbate) to see your daddy some day.

Your daddy loves you, he really does. Sure, he's never around, and he's always asking for money, but he REALLY loves you. Yeah, he never calls, and has never even written a letter to you, but a bunch of guys write on his behalf, and they say that he loves you. Well, some of the things they write say he loves you, some of them only talk about punishment, but I know he loves you.

You want to live with your daddy some day, don't you? Well, not all of his children actually get to live with him. You have to prove that you're worthy to live with this absent, deadbeat parent.

So heavenly daddy is some guy who donated his sperm, doesn't know you exist and doesn't care. The other stuff is made up.
