Fake news?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/lifestyle-buzz/the-happiest-states-in-america-ranked-is-yours-one-of-the-best/ar-BBNmY2c?ocid=spartandhp

My parental units and grand parents can't and couldn't get along but stay and stayed married.

My volunteer efforts in Utah were all callings.

I worked a lot of overtime.

Maybe it isn't fake news and Utah has changed? I left 17 years ago.

Mormon church honest answer:

Yes, Utah has a low divorce rate. Because we shame couples into staying together even when it would be far better for them to divorce, just so they can keep up appearances and inflate statistics like this one to make us look better.

Yes, our state people put in lots of "volunteer" hours. Hehe, isn't it funny that those MSN people consider non-voluntary church callings, where we assign people to do things, as "volunteer" work? Suckers.

Yes, we have a wonderful work-life balance, where any time a man isn't at work, he's balancing his church callings, and hardly ever getting to spend time with his wife and kids. Which is why we'd have a high divorce rate if we didn't shame/peer pressure couples that can't stand each other into staying together. And which is why we can claim all those "volunteer" hours. It's amazing we get away with this! Seriously! And we get them to give us 10% of their income to boot! Hahahahaha!

Our wickedness could never be their happiness because their happiness is so screwed up.

A large number of people in Utah are on antidepressants. Antidepressants can give people suicidal thoughts; especially younger people. The main question here is why are Mormons depressed? I think we know the answer.

Not just thoughts/contemplation -- but going through with it.
Utah has one of the highest suicide rates in the nation.

Sure, they're oh so happy...

This doesn't look so good.

Alzheimer’s disease 9th (in the nation)
Diabetes 9th (tie)
Suicide 5th

It is a state basically run by elderly men who promote a plan of happiness and a health code.

Hmmmm...
