Using fear to manipulate is what religion is all about.

In reading some of the GC talk summaries there is a lot of talk of Satan. It is almost humorous to see grown men talk about the boogie man. Religion thrives on fear — fear of the unknown, fear of the outside world, fear of death, etc.
